Throughout the year, USLI community members and College Help students take initiative to serve the community in numerous ways. This past summer, community members, led by our Green Team, set aside time to clean up a local playground. Natasha Zachary, a College Help student from Peirce College, shared her experience in helping:

“I attended the playground cleanup at the William Dick Elementary School during the summer with the Green Team. It was a cool experience, and I’m happy I decided to attend that event and help out the community. We cleared a lot of trash from the site, and I know the kids were excited to play in a clean playground on their first day of school. Keona and I even had the opportunity to walk over to the recreation center across from the school and clean up that area as well. I brought my daughter along to play while we cleaned up, and I saw first-hand how important it is to have a safe play area for children. I look forward to participating for a third time next year.”

If you are interested in servicing the community, keep a look out in your email for opportunities like this and more!
